Meet the Fairchildren!
Hey Cafe Connections and Pickens Community!
We are the Fairchild’s, but comedically refer to ourselves as the Fairchildren. Our family of four, Luke, Becca, Skyler, and Luna, has primarily lived in Beaufort, SC since 2012. We have an eclectic collection of life experiences, which has allowed us to serve others in many ways. In March of 2024, God opened the doors for our family to prayerfully travel, and discover where he was directing us to relocate for ministry. It was during this time we first visited with friends, who relocated to the Pickens area. During our second trip, in July 2024, we had the pleasure of discovering Cafe Connections, and unexpectedly found ourselves falling in love with the sweet town of Pickens, SC. After much prayer and council, we feel God calling our family to partner with Ann and Steve, and join the community.
Our family is excited to serve with Cafe Connections, and see where God leads us! Each member of our household has been blessed with a variety of gifts and talents. We look forward to sharing them with the community! Luke is a classically trained chef with over 25 years of experience. His favorite food to cook is comfort food, and he loves to bring people together with the joy food produces. Luke has a heart to serve others. He is a behind the scenes kind of guy, and historically avoids the spotlight. However, in recent years, God has called Luke to stretch and grow in new areas of service. Becca is enthusiastic and eager to fulfill the calling God has placed on her heart. She loves fostering service centered environments, and is passionate about connecting people with people, people with resources, and people with God. She loves talking with people and creating opportunities for people to gather and share life. Skyler is a teenager with an old soul, who has a tender heart, and a humorous mind. He enjoys playing games, and spending time with older generations. He has volunteered with senior communities since he was 5 years old. Luna is a miracle received by our family after great child loss. She is full of energy, sassy, silly, and a joy to many. When she is around, smiles and giggles are almost a guarantee.
As we dive in with Cafe Connections, we are joyful to follow God’s direction. It is an honor to support the current vision of Ann and Steve, and use our skills to foster growth to share God’s love with many others.
